Software changes, and the way your teams work changes with it. When Figma added Buzz for building on-brand marketing assets, teams caught on fast and adoption steadily increased. For global teams, the content created there needs to be localized just like anything else.
This GlobalLink Strings release adds Buzz support to our Figma plugin, so all of your content can be localized in one place. Read on to learn about the latest updates.
What Is GlobalLink Strings?
GlobalLink Strings is a software and app localization solution for global teams. With a series of self-service integration options for developers and design tool plugins for UX designers, it provides the full set of capabilities needed to manage the entire software localization lifecycle.
What’s New in GlobalLink Strings
Localize the assets you build in Figma Buzz
The GlobalLink Strings plugin for Figma now supports Figma Buzz. Open it inside a Buzz file, connect it to a project, and the marketing assets built there can be localized along with the rest of your Figma content.
Create copies while you download
You can now generate a duplicate of your Figma source file as you download translations for a target language. With this update, you’ll be able to reduce clicks and get to the work you need to focus on.
More visibility into order details
The orders list now includes more information about each submission. Each entry carries:
- Submission name
- Target languages
- Values from your order brief fields
The redesign also brings a refresh button to the list for reaching the latest information, so staying updated on multiple orders takes less manual labor.
Next Steps
If you’re an existing GlobalLink Strings user:
- Use the GlobalLink Strings plugin while working in Figma Buzz
- Use the new copy option while downloading a target language
- Open the orders list to read submission names, target languages, and brief values in place.

Software localization is the process of adapting software so that it operates in the language, conventions, and technical standards of a given market. This can include interface text, formatting, and layout.

Figma Buzz is the tool Figma provides for producing on-brand marketing assets. The GlobalLink Strings plugin for Figma supports Buzz, so content follows the same localization path as the rest of your Figma files.
What is app localization?
App localization refers to the adaptation of a mobile or web application to fit the language and cultural conventions of an intended market, applied on a continuing basis as the application is updated.
