Ease of use and flexibility are the themes of this GlobalLink Scribe release. A new side panel puts your review tools and view settings next to the transcript, starting a request takes one simple decision, and you can switch between transcripts and captions as the content develops. Read on for what’s new.

GlobalLink Scribe is an AI-powered speech-to-text tool that turns audio and video content into accurate, multilingual transcripts and captions. Supporting 170+ languages, the tool offers both fully automated and human-in-the-loop workflows, so you can choose the right balance of speed and oversight for each project.

Review tools now sit beside the transcript

The right-side panel puts Find and Replace, Shortcuts, Preferences, and Speakers into one place, alongside the text you’re working on. You can correct a line, adjust a setting, or check who is speaking without leaving the transcript, which keeps your attention on the content and accelerates transcript review.

The panel also holds the view controls, so you can set the workspace to suit your needs. Toggle these on and off as the work calls for it:

  • Spell check
  • Read-along
  • Timestamp visibility
  • Speaker display
  • Proofreading progress

Start a request with a single choice

Requests now begin with one decision: an automated transcript or a human transcript. The former is instant, and the latter is professional human transcription. This makes for a smooth start on every transcription request, and simpler onboarding the first time you submit one.

Switch between transcript and captions with ease

You no longer have to decide at the outset whether a project is a transcript or a set of captions. Open in Caption Editor takes you into caption editing, and Switch to Transcript Editor takes you back, so a project can follow the shape of its content.

Work the transcript first, then bring it into multilingual captions once the text is ready for subtitles. A project stays flexible as its needs evolve, and less work has to be repeated when the destination changes.

Next Steps

If you’re an existing GlobalLink Scribe user:

Open a recent project to see the right-side panel, and try adapting your project to your specific content, whether transcription or captions.

If you’re new to GlobalLink Scribe:

See how AI transcription and professional human transcription fit your work on the GlobalLink Scribe page, or explore how your content operations can connect with the wider GlobalLink platform.

Quick Answers

What is speech-to-text?

Speech-to-text is technology that converts spoken audio into written text. You supply an audio or video file, and the system returns a transcript you can read, edit, and search.

What is AI transcription?

AI transcription uses a speech recognition model to convert speech from an audio file into written text automatically.

What is the difference between a transcript and captions?

A transcript is the full text of what was said, read on its own. Captions are that same text split into timed lines and synchronized with the audio and video so it can be read on screen.

Why do captions matter for accessibility?

Captions make audio and video usable for viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing, and multilingual captions extend the same content to viewers who speak another language.
