Excellent localization programs run on momentum. Content moves automatically through the right routes, terminology stays consistent, and the tools you use every day stay right where you work. A strong translation management system (TMS) is the enterprise backbone that keeps that momentum going at global scale.

The latest update from GlobalLink TMS strengthens the core infrastructure of 6,000+ content operations around the world. With quality estimation (QE), intelligent routing, improved user experience, and more, it takes on more routine labor so you can keep content moving.

Read on for what’s new.

GlobalLink TMS is TransPerfect’s flagship technology and the enterprise translation management system that unifies internal teams, external vendors, and the technologies that connect them. Coordinating human experts and AI, it connects via APIs for headless operation or the 100+ pre-built integrations with the CMS, e-commerce, and other technology systems teams already use. GlobalLink TMS serves as the backbone for TransPerfect’s own operations, supporting more than 40,000 vendors worldwide.

Automated quality estimation and intelligent routing

GlobalLink TMS now estimates machine translation (MT) quality at the file level and automatically routes content based upon your own custom-set quality threshold. When every segment in a given file clears that threshold, content is delivered directly. Thresholds can be adapted per project, so each gets the level of scrutiny it calls for, whether the work is low-stakes or high-stakes.

Translate and share instantly with GlobalLink One

Everyday work becomes a simple conversation with GlobalLink One, the conversational gateway to the GlobalLink platform. Recently integrated with GlobalLink Now and GlobalLink Share capabilities, you can easily complete tasks like instant text translation and file delivery through plain language.

Apply every glossary at once

Glossary and terminology management are key pillars of an effective localization program. With GlobalLink TMS, a single project can now connect multiple glossaries for each language pair, so every glossary you rely on gets applied together. While editing, terms from all connected glossaries are highlighted at once, so linguists and reviewers see the full terminology picture at a glance.

Drag and drop becomes even clearer

User experience is what separates software you tolerate from the systems that feel great. With this update, we’re making drag-and-drop easier to use: As you drag a file, each drop zone lights up when passed over, so you can see where the file will land while it’s still in your hand. You also choose how the file is submitted, either through an AI-guided path that routes it for you or a template-based path that follows a setup you’ve defined.

Search your translation memory from the sidebar

Translation memories regularly need to be referenced, and now you can search them more easily.  With this release, you can open TM Concordance directly in the GlobalLink TMS sidebar.

Next Steps

If you’re an existing GlobalLink TMS user:

  • Review your current quality processes and consult our team on how QE can work for you
  • Open GlobalLink One and complete tasks through plain conversation
  • Search translation memories directly from the sidebar without leaving your project
  • Drag a file onto the Dashboard to see the drop zones highlight, then choose an AI-guided or template-based path

Quick Answers

What is machine translation quality estimation?

Quality estimation (QE) is a method of scoring the quality of machine-translated content prior to human review. As global content demands accelerate, QE cuts cost and labor hours with intelligent routing of content that falls below defined thresholds to human editors, maximizing efficiency.

What is a translation memory?

A translation memory is a database of previously translated segments that can be reused to keep terminology consistent and reduce repeated work.

What is a translation management system?

A translation management system (TMS) is the central hub that coordinates a translation or localization project from request to delivery, connecting the people, vendors, and technology involved.
