Every multilingual transcription task now has an engine to match it. For each submission, GlobalLink Scribe now lets you pick from engines that are tuned for top accuracy, tight data security, or the everyday balance you already rely on, so every transcription runs the best tool for the job. Also in this latest release: PII redaction across more languages, configurable file retention, and new controls to make your day-to-day work easier.

Read on to see what’s new.

GlobalLink Scribe is an AI-powered speech-to-text (STT) transcription and captioning tool that handles multilingual transcription and subtitling for audio and video content.

Choose your ASR engine, file by file

You can now select which automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine processes each submission. An ASR engine is the underlying technology that turns spoken audio into written text, and different engines are tuned for different priorities. The choice happens at the submission level, so a marketing team uploading a webinar and a legal team uploading witness interviews can share the same workspace while choosing the right tool for the right job. Three engines are available, and you can mix and match across submissions without changing your workflow. The engine options include:

Premium

Premium supports 23 languages and multilingual transcription within a single file. With improved recognition of speech, music, and background noise, plus automatic tagging, this engine is the right choice when transcript quality is the priority.

Regular

The default engine you already know, with broad language support and a balance of speed, accuracy, and cost that suits everyday transcription. Regular supports 90+ languages and stays as your default unless you opt into Premium or Secured for a specific submission.

Secured

Files stay inside TransPerfect infrastructure end to end. Choose Secured for sensitive recordings where data handling, regulatory compliance, and client confidentiality are the highest priorities.

PII redaction now covers more languages

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) masking is now powered by a robust large language model (LLM) and supports multiple languages. If you work in life sciences, legal, or financial services—industries where handling personally identifiable information carefully is a baseline requirement—this update extends that same standard to a much broader range of languages.

Flexible file retention policies

You can now control how long data is available on the platform instead of relying on a single default setting. Use shorter windows for sensitive recordings and longer access for ongoing projects, so retention aligns with your own compliance and data governance policies.

Personalize your space

Customize your workspace to work the way you do. Set a preferred download format, choose how timestamps display, and adjust other defaults so the editor opens with your preferences in place every time you sign in.

Tag transcript moments quickly

Speed up review workflows and keep labeling consistent across your team with fast tagging directly in the editor. You can label transcript moments such as music, crosstalk, and background noise as you review, making searching and reporting easier.

Next Steps

If you’re an existing GlobalLink Scribe user:

  • Try Premium on a high-stakes transcript
  • Pick Secured for a recent recording with sensitive content
  • Adjust your file retention window to match your team’s data governance policy
  • Set your preferred download format and timestamp display in your workspace settings
  • Use fast tagging on your next review pass to flag music, crosstalk, or background noise

Quick Answers

Do I have to change my workflow to use the new ASR engine selection?

The Regular engine remains the default, and your existing submissions continue to behave the same way. Engine selection happens per submission, so you can opt into Premium or Secured only when a specific file calls for it.

Which engine should I use for multilingual files in a single submission?

Premium is the only ASR engine that supports multilingual files within a single submission. It also offers improved recognition of speech, music, and background noise, with automatic tagging across 23 languages.

Which engine should I use for a recording that contains sensitive client information? The Secured engine is the right choice. Files processed through Secured stay inside TransPerfect infrastructure from start to finish, making it the best option for sensitive recordings.
